SIMONETTA BRUNI

SYNOPSIS

EVERYONES OWN

The concept of Simonetta Bruni’s exhibition are the so-called “periblepharal” images: optic sensations that people perceive when looking into a light source with closed eyed or when blinking. At different levels, the viewer becomes conscious of the variety, but above all the privacy of these images which deny all non-verbal mediation. Moreover, she inquires about the status of this type of images in comparison to “normal”, that is displayable images, which we often consider the only true images. “everyone’s own” is an intelligent, artistic reflection on our private relationship with images – and finally with ourselves.
