TERESE DE SENA

SYNOPSIS

ÁGUAS DE BORRACHA

The topos of the “latent image” is transformed by De Sena in her work  “Águas de Borracha”, in English: erasing water, into art: on old blotting paper invisible, latent engrams are drawn with an ink eraser pen, which become visible only if large quantities of ink are being applied to the picture, thereby destroying the original materiality of the picture.

LEPIDOGRAMAS

The Portuguese Biennale artist Terese de Sena, who died young in December 2007, has left behind a number of prints, which in their fractal form play remind us on the one hand of complex vegetable forms, and on the other hand of geological formations.
